Bio
Oles Shtanko was a QuICS Postdoctoral Scholar from 2019 to 2021. He received his Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019, supervised by Prof. Seth Lloyd. His research interests include isolated and open many-body systems, non-equilibrium dynamics, quantum simulations, quantum optimization, and quantum thermodynamics. The main research goal is two-way: apply the knowledge of non-equilibrium quantum systems to predict the functioning noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices as well as understand which types of physical problems can be efficiently solved by NISQ technology. Oles is a Postdoctoral Researcher at IBM.
